it all started when my grandma papworth passed away in february. i have two pictures of her that i love. one when she was a little girl and another when she was a senior in high school. at home, my mom has these pictures displayed on the top of our piano a long with some other family favorites.
i wanted to create somewhere i could display them in my house (sadly, no piano yet). landon wanted some of his family pics displayed as well, so we thought we'd do a collage on the wall. my mom sent more pictures. when we went to florida, we spent hours digging through old pics that landon’s mom and grandma had. we came back and got some more from my grandma. we had so many pictures that we loved, soon our little collage had grown to quite a big project.
we didn't get to put all of our new treasures on the wall, but we tried to pick out our favorites. as you can see, there are quite a few. but, we love them. i love looking at the wall and remembering where we come from, the great people and stories that got us here, and how families are eternal and our greatest blessings in this life.
so, without further adieu, here is our wall. we just free-handed this. pretty good, don't you think? started with the star and some of the larger pics, then just guessed as went went from there. it was a pretty high-anxiety project, not knowing what the end result was going to look like.

LOVE that you have old pictures of your family, what a great idea.
how cute! I totally love it. I have some old family pictures too that I'd love to put up. Someday when we have a house :) I kind of like that they aren't all straight. It makes it homey.
LOVE IT! I want to do this kind of project in my hallway and now this gives me some inspiration. I never thought to use a non-picture decoration (the star) in the middle. Great job Jessica!
that is really cool Jessica!
